Overview
2004 was the first bottled release of Dark Lord. It was not celebrated as an organized event, so perhaps should not be considered the first Dark Lord Day. That honor belongs to 2005.
Unsure of the exact release date, evidence suggests it was released in March 2004. On or prior to the weekend of 3/19/2004 based on the March 25 entry on this blog. It was on draft at the Map Room early March 2004.
